Stay patient

Some days can feel like there is not enough hours in the day to finish things and others seem to drag by, but when it comes to having patience, can we understand why God wants us to have it?

When the Israelites were in bondage back in Egypt during the time of king Ramses the second, they spent time working in the land, to provide for their families, but over the span of 430 years things wasn’t what they expected considering that they were once treated good in Egypt while Joesph was the next to the most powerful man in Egypt, but after the passing of him, that’s when another ruler took over and made them slaves.

Jumping ahead to when Moses returned to Egypt after he had talked to God at the bush of fire, God sent him back to free his people, because he had heard their cries, and since Egypt at that time had many gods, the God of the Israelites ,wanted his people to want him as their God, he spent time showing them his powers and all he could do, and he wanted them to choose him over the others, and that is where the patience started.

God took them through the desert over the span of 40 years to show them that with him they would need nothing, but they complained alot during this time. Which begin to get on God’s nerves, simply because God wants us to have patience in life, to trust him, to let him lead us to where he wants us to be, and sometimes God will let us walk awhile in what seems like suffering times but along the way he teaches us, to have patience, to know love, to see him, to let him show us his power, grace, mercy, to show us his heart, which makes him, him. God is beautiful, have faith, and endure to the end. Life isn’t about having the best of the best, it’s about doing the will of God. The whole duty of man, is to fear God and keep his commandments.

Building the kingdom together.

Building the kingdom together is a fun way for us to interact with others who are on the same path as us, as well as bring new brothers and sisters into the kingdom of God, but it seems like sometimes we are divided about the scripture, when we really don’t mean to be. So many of us are scared to mention religion at any public meeting, thinking it will cause conflict but we shouldn’t be. You never know who will want to learn about the scriptures, even though sometimes you may face someone who will slam your beliefs making you feel like giving up, but don’t give up.

It’s not that we are divided, it’s that each of us bring something different to the table that helps build the kingdom, everyone needs to know about God, and all the goodness he has given his people since the dawn of man. He has really been very good to us, even when we don’t deserve it, he is holy and we are sinners, yet he sees us as he created us, because of the love he has for each and every one of us.

Let’s come together, and build the kingdom. God wants us all to be with him and will wait until the last soul returns to him and he will rejoice with his people.

Let’s spend more time building and less time breaking each other down, you can’t be a team doing that, and the bride of Jesus is his assembly, we should be one with him in unity.

Stay calm in life’s storms.

It’s human nature to seek shelter when we start to see the sky darken, even if we was never told to do so, it is nature of all creation to find safety, we do this because of a reaction to fear, but what about when we face a spiritual storm? In Isaiah 40:10, God is talking to Israel telling his people not to fear: “Fear not; for I am with you, be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.” This is not to say for you to run out into the middle of danger, because it is also written that you should not tempt your God.

This is saying not to fear what lies in front of you, sometimes we forget how to handle our own battles. Have you ever been in a position where life totally knocked you in the ditch and you felt like it just buried you in rocks? You lay there waiting for God to pick you up, and he doesn’t, but you can feel him standing there watching you, and you start to think, ” why are you not helping me up.” This is where some people who were on fire for God, fall away, because we are taught that God always picks us up, and this is true, he does help us, God will let you bend maybe to the ground like a tree in a bad wind storm, but he will not let you break.

When God seems like he is doing nothing, he is waiting for you to get up, and keep going, God teaches us to handle the storm as we cling to him, each life battle, teaches us to be stronger than before, so that we will be able to withstand the harshest battles, with God.

We can’t quit when it gets hard. If you have kids, you know that no matter how much you want to do everything for them, that you can’t, you will be there for them to pick them up but you would never let them break, you know that this teaches them to be self sufficent for when you get old and you want to know that they will be ok. It’s the same way that God teaches his people, although God never leaves us, nor does he get old and wither away, but he knows that teaching us is what is best for us, even though we don’t understand it. You just have to trust him, he has shown us many times that he is for us, loves us, guides us, wants what is best for us, and wants to see us bloom.

Don’t be afraid of the unknown, God knows the ending from the very beginning, and Jesus cleared the path for us, and told us how it would be. Keep the faith, and trust him.

Why we are given a guardian angel.

We have heard it all of our lives, ” your angel was watching over you.” Do you ever think about why we have them, starting out I will honestly say that I am one of those people who ask why alot, then want to know the answer to why things are the way they are.

Starting this morning as I went to my local park to walk my dog, I was deep in space talking with God while thinking that I was alone, so I wasn’t paying attention to my surroundings, but I kept noticing my dog looking back, and side to side, and I thought she was looking for something to chase so I kept my pace on the walk, well suddenly a man ran right past me and I was startled, not only did I think that I was alone, but I didn’t hear his shoes hitting the pavement, so I had no idea he was coming up behind me until he passed.

After that moment, I thought, maybe that’s how we are blindsided by satan, when we aren’t paying attention to what is going on, when we are so lost in our own thoughts and feelings that we completely get ran over by sin, which could also lead to danger down the road.

It’s no surprise that God wants to keep his people safe while on their journey toward him, and he knows that we don’t pay attention sometimes and we need that extra protection against the unseen forces of the spirit realm, so along with us being born with a tempter, God also assigns us a protector to help guide us, and that along with the holy spirit that Jesus left with us to guide his people, we are well equipt to make it safely to God.

So when you find yourself startled by something, know that your guardian angel is helping you, and leading you toward paying more attention, so you don’t get blindsided by the adversary.

Feeling relief knowing darkness will end.

If you have ever been in any kind of bad weather, you know that there is always that chance the power will be knocked out at some point, leaving you in pitch black darkness, without radio, a low phone battery, and no WIFI to get the latest weather updates, and it can be pretty scary, fear of the unknown, yet knowing that you are in the middle of a storm that can produce severe damage.

After the storm has passed and the sun returns the next morning, you may still face power outages, and it could be days before it’s restored, leaving spoiled food, the urge to look at social media, and knowing that the night will always come each day.

Let’s say it’s been several days, and you feel you are living a level up from cast away and a buddy named wilson, and you think to yourself ” well, this is my life now, I wonder how the rest of the world is living right now,” that’s whenyou finially see it… the linemen driving a line of utility trucks, and you get the feeling of excitment that the lights will be restored and life will return to normal, and you feel happiness rushing through your body at the speed of light. (A big thank you to the linemen out there who work hard to make our lives easy).

Now imagine the spiritual storm that causes darkness in the world, comes and creates a darkness that can be felt, for days, years, however long it is, but you see all of the signs that your hope and light is coming, and then you see Jesus decending from heaven, what happiness that will be, to know that salvation is on the way, to make all things new, filled with everlasting light, no tears, no hunger, pain, or sorrow. Just a newness that comes with Jesus as he gives us our crown of life. ( Thank you Jesus)

Give your life to Jesus today.

His timing is perfect.

Do you ever feel like things just are not happening fast enough? Most of you may feel this way or have felt this way about something in our life, I know that I have, whatever it may be.

God’s timing is perfect, he is neither early nor is he late. A story that I have to share today is when I was younger, I was very anxious about going places such as shopping, the movies, ect., and I was never relaxed about any of it, by the time I had arrived, I was tired from being in a hurry to get to what I wanted to do, only to see that it wasn’t as much fun as it would have been if I had of been more relaxed. I remember a pastor coming into my work alot, and he would always ask me about my weekend, and then one sunday morning he came into my job and asked me why I was in such a hurry when it wasn’t busy, and it was a question I didn’t have an answer for, I was rushing to get things finished when I still had all day to finish my tasks.

I noticed that by slowing down, that I done a better job on each thing I was working on. This pastor told me about God’s timing and about how God had the entire universe to take care of and was never early or late about getting things in order, and that things will happen in time as long as we keep walking forward.

Things in the world will happen in the proper time, things in your life will happen in time, don’t be in a hurry for them because you may miss out on something wonderful, but like this pastor said, keep moving forward even if it’s slow, you will eventually get to your destination.

Let God lead you in his timing, and the result will be better than if you try to force time to hurry, time will never change, the clock ticks the same beats, everyday, and never misses. Perfect timing, it’s God’s plan.

Keeping the light through the storm.

During the tribulation period mentioned in the books of Daniel, Matthew, and Revelation, there will come a time that according to Jesus will be one of the hardest times that the world has ever witnessed or will ever witness again, but the ones on Earth during that time, how will they survive, how will they find the light in a darkness that can be felt? Will they know what to do, by that time, will they even know the word of God exists? No one can predict when it will start, or when Jesus will return, what we can be sure of one thing though, that’s faith, the faith that Jesus will return, and the faith that God will keep us in the light, like he did in Egypt, during the days of darkness that could be felt, so you know it was a very heavy feeling, maybe almost chilling, but the hebrews did what God had told moses to tell them to do, and during each of the plagues they remained safe, and none of their animals died, none of the plagues came near them.

In the book of Revelation 3:10 ,written here are the words of Jesus which state “Because you have kept the word of my patience, I will also keep you from the hour of temptation, which will come upon all the world, to try them who dwell upon the earth.” The hebrews were kept because of their obedience to God, we will be kept because of our obedience to God, by following Jesus, Jesus said in John 14:15, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” And he also said that he would send a comforter, which is the holy spirit, and it’s this holy spirit that guides us during tribulation and also in great times, it’s what keeps us knowing what to do, where to go, how to be, it’s what keeps us in the faith, the faith of knowing, that no matter how hard things seem to be, that the darkness doesn’t last forever, and that with just the patience of enduring for a short time, even though it might seem long, we will indeed see our king coming in the clouds, with the brightness shining brighter than a white sun, with his army of angels.

Don’t be stuck in darkness, because you feel it, follow the light, stay in prayer, have faith, because you are loved by God more than you can ever comprehend, he fights for you, he bought us back, and he saved us. It will be ok.

Ever wonder who God is talking to in this verse?

Alot of people wonder just who God was talking to in the bible verse before he created man, some think angels, some think Jesus, some think it could have been adam himself, and others think he could have been talking to John, so… who is it?

Let’s start with the writings of Paul, with some passages he wrote pretaining to this subject. Starting with Colossians 1:15 in the king james bible, it’s written “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:” looking at this piece of scripture, it’s easy to think he was talking to Adam, since he seemed to be the firstborn of creatures, but Adam was formed from the Earth, and God was clearly talking to another person, since he said “let’s make man in our image”, so, in this next piece of scripture, which comes from the book of Hebrews chapter 1 verses 3 and 4 are written ” who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he himself had purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: Being made so much better than the angels, as he has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Over in the book of Revelation chapter 5 it talks about The lamb from the tribe of Juda, the root of David taking the book and the elders and beasts fell to worship the lamb because he was the only one worthy in all of the heavens to open the seals. Now let’s take a look at more scripture that points at Jesus being the one that God is talking to, it comes right from Jesus himself in the book of John chapter 17 verse 5 which written says” And now O Father, glorify thou me with your own self, with the glory which I had with you before the world was.

Also more scripture that comes from Jesus is in the same book of John and the same chapter in verse 24 which written says “Father, I will that they also, whom you have given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which you have given me: for you loved me before the foundation of the world.

In closing I find it clear, that in the beginning before God created man, he was talking to Jesus when he said, let us make man in our own image.

Could church hopping ever be a thing?

We have all heard of club hopping, and most of us have been there in our youth before we found God, but what about church hopping and why could it not be something to do? Today as I was driving down the road, I noticed a church sign that read “bible study, Wednesday evening at 6:00 P.M. It came to me, that my church starts at 7 P.M. and some even start as late as 8 P.M. Now most church services only last and hour during the week, so I thought why not start with the early service, and work down to the late service.

I know that being a weekday most people are tired when leaving work, but what do you really do when home? We watch t.v., look at our phone, cook dinner. Now, I know that going to church is not very popular, ( well until something bad happens, or things just seem not to be working) but the benefits of having a church family are great, you can get together with them, have bake sales that benefit the food banks, and numerous other programs that help people, have lasting friendships, and just meet new people with fresh ideas, and the end is a good result.

So why not church hop? I know it sounds different and maybe even funny, but going to church and staying filled with Jesus keeps you out of trouble and you stay on the right path.

How to fill the void in your life with a love you never knew existed.

I think in life all of us have felt like we were missing something, like there was a void that no matter what you did it just seemed not to be filled. You may be single, looking for love, a family, whatever it may be that keeps you empty can be filled, listen to what God tells his people and you will hear the most awesome love ever. I’m going to put verses of scripture down from both the Israeli bible and the king james bible because both mean the same but are worded a little differently. Starting with the Israeli bible in Isaiah 54:5-10 For He who made you will espouse you (meaning marry) His name is LORD of Hosts. The holy one of Israel will redeem you- He is called God of all the Earth. Hashem ( which is a title for the name of God the creator) has called you back as a wife forlorn and forsaken, Can one cast off the wife of his youth? Said your God. (this next verse is God himself talking to his people) For a little while I forsook you, but with vast love I will bring you back. In slight anger, for a moment, I hid my face from you , but with kindness everlasting I will take you back in love, said Hashem your redeemer. For this to Me is like the waters of Noach ( Noah ): As I swore that the waters Of Noach Nevermore would flood the earth, So I swear that I will not be angry with you or rebuke you. For the mountains may move and the hills be shaken, but my loyalty shall never move from you, nor my covenant of friendship be shaken- said Hashem who takes you back in love.

Ok so in the king james bible, the words are the same, except for in verse 5 it says your Maker is your husband, and then in verse 6 instead of wife it says woman. So we can see that when we were cut off from God he felt grief, like, if some of you out there have lost a partner, and you really want them back into your life because you loved them so much, and it’s the same with God, he wanted his people back, to walk with us again, to be for us, and us for him, so he sent his son Jesus to cover our sins so that we can be forever clean in the body and blood of Jesus, and he done this to fill the void in our souls, the void he felt, so when we are put together the pieces fit and we are both filled.

God needs us to obey him, he wants us in his life, and we need him in ours.

How to start filling the void in your life:

  1. Spend time with God in prayer
  2. read the bible daily, read the books that you dont read often
  3. Ask Jesus to come into your life, want him in your life, need him in your life, to be your king.
  4. Ask Jesus to help you, Jesus says whatever it is that ou ask for in his name, he will do it, so ask him to help you in this life
  5. Stay close to God, and he will start working in your life, and you wont even know how, things will just happen.
  6. Don’t just spend time in prayer like number one, but set times to go to pray, afflict your souls for God, get up in the middle of the night, and go pray, it can be a few minutes to however long you want, and in the beginning you can ask him for the same things over and over again, and you will see that your very thoughts will change from what you thought you wanted.
  7. and last but not least, live the word of God, follow Jesus to the point where you get his flame and people can see it in you.

Nothing is impossible with God. It really is a connection we can’t explain.
