Are we living in the age of smoke and mirrors?

When we look at our reflection in the mirror, we either love who we see, or hate what we see. We can be judgmental of who we see, or just see the flaws that stick out to us like a bad sunburn, but how many of us truly like the person looking back at us?

I will start by saying that a mirror lies, the distorted product can never tell us how we truly look, simply because each mirror is made differently, some make us look good, while others make us look bigger than what we really are creating a false illusion that either depresses us or makes us prideful.

The topic of this article is smoke and mirrors, because we never can truly see clearly when we only look at the reflection, and the light we use to see with is dim, compared to other lights. The same goes for when we are reading scripture as well.

When we are just starting out with reading the word of God, we can’t see the bigger picture at first, and many will fall away for that very reason, it’s because as humans we are programmed to live in a world of rushing, to get something finished on time.

You want the light of God, and you read some scripture, and pray for something, but when you don’t recieve your prayer right away, what is the first thing that usually happens? We become impatient and give up. Everything we do takes time, losing weight, gaining muscle definition, diet changes, growing hair, or long nails, even sickness takes time to both grow and heal, I mean you don’t just wake up one morning with the brunt of a cold nor would you want to, in general the body has to adjust first.

Satan makes us believe that everything has to happen right then, and he does this to make us irritated when things are slow to progress, so that we fall away and don’t continue with forming a relationship with God. This is the illusion he uses, and he has been using this since the dawn of man when he tempted Eve, he told her that she wouldn’t die if she ate from the tree of knowledge, and once she had eaten it, she saw that she was still alive, so when she gave Adam a bite, he saw that he was also still alive. However what satan didn’t mention was the fact that they died spiritually.

Growing in the bible takes time, time to learn, time to study, and a time to develop. It’s like when you see fog, how you can see nothing but white ground clouds, but once the sun starts to rise, you notice that the fog slowly goes away until the sunlight is fully out and all the fog is gone, making your vision perfect of your surroundings. Same is true with the bible, the more you spend time with it, the more you learn, and over time along with prayer, you will start to notice how clear it becomes.

Never get frustrated when things don’t happen right away, God’s timing is perfect, he is never early nor is he ever late, but right on time. Jesus brought the light to a world full of smoke and mirrors, he made a way for us to see clearly even in the darkest of night.

Don’t just look at your reflection and think you are less than perfect, you are perfect in the eyes of God, he made you and he see’s what he made, and he adores you.

A kings ransom

In life some of us are looking for a knight, while others are looking for the relief of hard times, like the hero in a fictional movie. You see these traditional holiday movies where the unexpected love is found at the end, and the whole movie becomes awesome because of it.

Much like our life here on earth, we are living out our very own story, from the time we open our eyes at birth entering into the light of the world, walking our own path where each day is unwritten, as far as we know anyway.

We have the choice to make or life what we want it to be and although it can be hard at times, we still have to keep going. We do things that we don’t want to do and endure the bad times. While the endurance of these hard times can feel like being at work for what feels like hours only to look at your watch to see it has only been a few minutes, and knowing that you still have many hours left to go.

We may not know the ending to the movie we watch, or the book we read that make us crave what’s inside, but we can know what the ending of our story here brings. Your hero awaits you in the distance, if you are looking for the never ending love, or the relief to help you to get rid of the burdens in your life, Jesus has the answer to it.

We are living in one of the greatest love stories ever written, or that will ever be written, it’s about the love of a king, who found the one he cherished, willing to pay any price for his love against the villian who tried to steal her away from him, the kings ransom, if you will. While he saves his love from danger, she set her heart on her king but the enemy tempts her with money, beauty, jewels and riches of the world but fails to tell her that they will never last. Her king comes to her with a written letter telling her what’s what, and how to escape this snare that the villian brought, and not only how he wants her to prepare herself for his arrival but also how to prepare. To be so connected to him that she can hear his voice just by closing her eyes. The battle rages to this very day for the heart of his love, and he intends to win her.

Your troubles will end, the hard times will vanish, love will flourish, the journey will end with our king wiping away our tears. The only thing that lasts forever, is eternity whether it be good or bad. Your majesty awaits you, so choose king Jesus.

How to remain positive when things look bleak.

It’s not uncommon to turn on the T.V. or social media and find some sort of fear that gives many anxiety, stress, depression, and the list can go on with the amount of fear in todays world. However we can not escape this reality, we must get through it the best way we can by keep moving forward in the right direction.

A few weeks ago I recieved an email from a friend, Marty Roe, and at the end of this email it had listed three components of happiness, and these came from Dr. Gordon Livingston, who was a psychiatrist and author, and his books focus on the human condition and issues of death, sadly he passed away a few years ago at the age of 77, however his books remain, and if you get a chance, you can check them out on Amazon.

The three components of happiness were listed as this:

  1. Find something to do. ( With many in lockdown in some parts of the world, this may seem difficult, but you can find projects around the house, or do crafts, start an exercise program, the list of things to do around the house is endless, but is you are able to get out of the house, you can always find something to take your mind off of things)
  2. Find someone to love ( ok I know what you are thinking here, dating and love are not on my radar or it’s too hard to find love.) Finding love however, it can be a bestfriend, or even a friend to go have coffee with, you don’t have to fall in love, just love the moment you have with this person.
  3. Last on the list but certainly not least, it find something to look forward to ( this can be anything really, a finished project, results of something you have been trying to finish for a long time) just keep the drive to finish something, so you can look forward to seeing the result.

Once you finish these, you can always go on to something else, so you will always have something to look forward to on a daily basis, and even though some days may have a negative feel, just keep moving forward with the focus on the positive.

What is temptation? Why do we fall for it, and how can we triumph over it?

Everyone on earth is tempted, even Jesus was tempted in the desert, he never fell into the temptation though. Fighting temptation is hard regardless of what you struggle with in life, but where does it come from, and why are we so tempted by things?

Temptaion is as old as time itself, before man even came onto the scene when Lucifer was formed, and his temptaion was pride, and he tempted one third of the angels to follow him, but why is it here, and why did God allow it to form? Temptation is a manifestation of you, your thoughts, what you see, how you want to feel, or moreover how you think you should feel about things in life, ranging from wanting love, to wanting power, and all inbetween. So why did God allow it to happen? It happens to give us a choice, because if God just laid the path without a choice then you wouldn’t love him, you would just be a robot doing what you are told to do because you know nothing else.

When you look at your tempter sit and think about what it is that you like about it, is it memories, feelings, a destination? Then ask yourself, how can someone on fire for God, suddenly be cold, or lukewarm, hanging on by a thread, all because you fell into your own mind or heart.

Temptation starts with the mind, what goes into your thoughts, will eventually go into your heart, and once it is inside it runs through your veins with each pump of it until it crushes you to the ground and at that point you reach up for God to pull you out, to save you from yourself.

Things you can do to stay on the right path, are avoid what is tempting you, get it out of your life, your sight, thoughts and heart. Stay close to God, and read your bible every single day, and spend less time with your phone, t.v., whatever is keeping you from being your best for God, leave it behind, and eventually you will have strenght to see the temptation and you wont even want it anymore.

The hard part is over, Jesus paid our debt, so what we have to do, is spend more time with God.

Is the technology for the beast system here? What do we do about it?

For ages people have claimed that the mark of the beast is here, some claimed that back in the 30’s when people were issued a social security number, however is it here today? Do we have the technology to recieve it, and what exactly is this mark of beast? In Revelation 13 it talks about two men, both are similar but different at the same time, and they get their power from satan. Now in chapter 13 verses 16 through 18 states ” And he causes all, both great and small, rich and poor, free and bond, to recieve a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads, and that no man might buy or sell, unless he has the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that understanding count the number of the beast: for it’s the number of a man; and his number is six hundred threescore and six.”

When looking at this scripture something to understand, is that this beast is a man, a powerful one, the global leader. Many people and even scholars have tried to pinpoint who this man is by the number given, and the truth is that you can’t know until he stands in the 3rd temple that will be built in Jerusalem, and you can’t worship this man until he is here.

As far as the technology it is here and no it’s not covid nor the vaccine, let’s move on. There are 2 different companies that have produced a brain chip implant within the past year or so, one is by Elon Musk and Neuralink, and the other is by Emulate which a few days ago the FDA approved the chip by Emulate to be used in humans.

Now the RIFD hand implant has been out for many years already, and have been implanted in humans already, and in 2020 most of Sweden have accepted it as a form of getting rid of cash.

What does this mean for us as followers of Jesus, and what are we to do about it?

You always put your faith in Jesus, and when he said to pick up your cross and follow him, that’s what you have to do, you have to have the understanding that the followers of Jesus will be persecuted, unless you bow down to the beast system, and doing that will result in what is said in Revelation 14 verses 9 through 11 which states ” the 3rd angel followed them, saying in a loud voice, If any man worship the beast or his image, and recieve his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb: and the smoke of their torment ascends up for ever and ever, and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever recieves the mark of his name.” This sounds terrifying.

Trust in Jesus, and although you may face persecution by following Jesus, and not taking the chip or the mark, it’s still way better than facing the wrath of God at full force, because we all die, that was the door that sin opened, however the door that Jesus opened was eternal life after we pass from here.

Be watchful, stay faithful to God by keeping his commandments, pick up your cross and follow Jesus, and be brave, becasue your king and mine has our back, and fights for us.

Stay patient

Some days can feel like there is not enough hours in the day to finish things and others seem to drag by, but when it comes to having patience, can we understand why God wants us to have it?

When the Israelites were in bondage back in Egypt during the time of king Ramses the second, they spent time working in the land, to provide for their families, but over the span of 430 years things wasn’t what they expected considering that they were once treated good in Egypt while Joesph was the next to the most powerful man in Egypt, but after the passing of him, that’s when another ruler took over and made them slaves.

Jumping ahead to when Moses returned to Egypt after he had talked to God at the bush of fire, God sent him back to free his people, because he had heard their cries, and since Egypt at that time had many gods, the God of the Israelites ,wanted his people to want him as their God, he spent time showing them his powers and all he could do, and he wanted them to choose him over the others, and that is where the patience started.

God took them through the desert over the span of 40 years to show them that with him they would need nothing, but they complained alot during this time. Which begin to get on God’s nerves, simply because God wants us to have patience in life, to trust him, to let him lead us to where he wants us to be, and sometimes God will let us walk awhile in what seems like suffering times but along the way he teaches us, to have patience, to know love, to see him, to let him show us his power, grace, mercy, to show us his heart, which makes him, him. God is beautiful, have faith, and endure to the end. Life isn’t about having the best of the best, it’s about doing the will of God. The whole duty of man, is to fear God and keep his commandments.

Building the kingdom together.

Building the kingdom together is a fun way for us to interact with others who are on the same path as us, as well as bring new brothers and sisters into the kingdom of God, but it seems like sometimes we are divided about the scripture, when we really don’t mean to be. So many of us are scared to mention religion at any public meeting, thinking it will cause conflict but we shouldn’t be. You never know who will want to learn about the scriptures, even though sometimes you may face someone who will slam your beliefs making you feel like giving up, but don’t give up.

It’s not that we are divided, it’s that each of us bring something different to the table that helps build the kingdom, everyone needs to know about God, and all the goodness he has given his people since the dawn of man. He has really been very good to us, even when we don’t deserve it, he is holy and we are sinners, yet he sees us as he created us, because of the love he has for each and every one of us.

Let’s come together, and build the kingdom. God wants us all to be with him and will wait until the last soul returns to him and he will rejoice with his people.

Let’s spend more time building and less time breaking each other down, you can’t be a team doing that, and the bride of Jesus is his assembly, we should be one with him in unity.

Stay calm in life’s storms.

It’s human nature to seek shelter when we start to see the sky darken, even if we was never told to do so, it is nature of all creation to find safety, we do this because of a reaction to fear, but what about when we face a spiritual storm? In Isaiah 40:10, God is talking to Israel telling his people not to fear: “Fear not; for I am with you, be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.” This is not to say for you to run out into the middle of danger, because it is also written that you should not tempt your God.

This is saying not to fear what lies in front of you, sometimes we forget how to handle our own battles. Have you ever been in a position where life totally knocked you in the ditch and you felt like it just buried you in rocks? You lay there waiting for God to pick you up, and he doesn’t, but you can feel him standing there watching you, and you start to think, ” why are you not helping me up.” This is where some people who were on fire for God, fall away, because we are taught that God always picks us up, and this is true, he does help us, God will let you bend maybe to the ground like a tree in a bad wind storm, but he will not let you break.

When God seems like he is doing nothing, he is waiting for you to get up, and keep going, God teaches us to handle the storm as we cling to him, each life battle, teaches us to be stronger than before, so that we will be able to withstand the harshest battles, with God.

We can’t quit when it gets hard. If you have kids, you know that no matter how much you want to do everything for them, that you can’t, you will be there for them to pick them up but you would never let them break, you know that this teaches them to be self sufficent for when you get old and you want to know that they will be ok. It’s the same way that God teaches his people, although God never leaves us, nor does he get old and wither away, but he knows that teaching us is what is best for us, even though we don’t understand it. You just have to trust him, he has shown us many times that he is for us, loves us, guides us, wants what is best for us, and wants to see us bloom.

Don’t be afraid of the unknown, God knows the ending from the very beginning, and Jesus cleared the path for us, and told us how it would be. Keep the faith, and trust him.

Why we are given a guardian angel.

We have heard it all of our lives, ” your angel was watching over you.” Do you ever think about why we have them, starting out I will honestly say that I am one of those people who ask why alot, then want to know the answer to why things are the way they are.

Starting this morning as I went to my local park to walk my dog, I was deep in space talking with God while thinking that I was alone, so I wasn’t paying attention to my surroundings, but I kept noticing my dog looking back, and side to side, and I thought she was looking for something to chase so I kept my pace on the walk, well suddenly a man ran right past me and I was startled, not only did I think that I was alone, but I didn’t hear his shoes hitting the pavement, so I had no idea he was coming up behind me until he passed.

After that moment, I thought, maybe that’s how we are blindsided by satan, when we aren’t paying attention to what is going on, when we are so lost in our own thoughts and feelings that we completely get ran over by sin, which could also lead to danger down the road.

It’s no surprise that God wants to keep his people safe while on their journey toward him, and he knows that we don’t pay attention sometimes and we need that extra protection against the unseen forces of the spirit realm, so along with us being born with a tempter, God also assigns us a protector to help guide us, and that along with the holy spirit that Jesus left with us to guide his people, we are well equipt to make it safely to God.

So when you find yourself startled by something, know that your guardian angel is helping you, and leading you toward paying more attention, so you don’t get blindsided by the adversary.

Feeling relief knowing darkness will end.

If you have ever been in any kind of bad weather, you know that there is always that chance the power will be knocked out at some point, leaving you in pitch black darkness, without radio, a low phone battery, and no WIFI to get the latest weather updates, and it can be pretty scary, fear of the unknown, yet knowing that you are in the middle of a storm that can produce severe damage.

After the storm has passed and the sun returns the next morning, you may still face power outages, and it could be days before it’s restored, leaving spoiled food, the urge to look at social media, and knowing that the night will always come each day.

Let’s say it’s been several days, and you feel you are living a level up from cast away and a buddy named wilson, and you think to yourself ” well, this is my life now, I wonder how the rest of the world is living right now,” that’s whenyou finially see it… the linemen driving a line of utility trucks, and you get the feeling of excitment that the lights will be restored and life will return to normal, and you feel happiness rushing through your body at the speed of light. (A big thank you to the linemen out there who work hard to make our lives easy).

Now imagine the spiritual storm that causes darkness in the world, comes and creates a darkness that can be felt, for days, years, however long it is, but you see all of the signs that your hope and light is coming, and then you see Jesus decending from heaven, what happiness that will be, to know that salvation is on the way, to make all things new, filled with everlasting light, no tears, no hunger, pain, or sorrow. Just a newness that comes with Jesus as he gives us our crown of life. ( Thank you Jesus)

Give your life to Jesus today.
